are one body in Christ…

A welcoming congregation of believers serving together by God’s grace

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church, the oldest continuous church congregation in Bosque County, Texas.

We’re a small Christian family with a large community footprint, serving the Clifton area since 1861. First Church is a member congregation of Grace Presbytery, Synod of the Sun, Presbyterian Church USA. Please come in and feel the Holy Spirit’s presence in our midst.

This Week at First Presbyterian Church

Looking Towards Sunday - Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. Pastor Schofield presents a time of Scripture Study, prayer and reflection using the Revised Common Lectionary passages for the upcoming Sunday morning Worship Service. The broadcast is through FB Live Streaming. It is a time of enjoying the beauty of the Bosque River Valley and seeking God’s calling in our lives through His Holy Word.

The Gospel of Matthew – Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Elder Punky Penberthy leads a well written Study of the Gospel of Matthew. We meet in the Church Fellowship Hall for a time of Bible Study, Discussion and Fellowship.

Sunday Morning Worship Service - The Church Bell tolls at 11:00 a.m. as we begin the service with a joyful sense of fellowship, renewal, confession, reconciliation, and forgiveness. The Chancel Choir brings forth excellent music, the Hymns of the Church are sung, the Scriptures of the Day are read, prayers and liturgies are given and Biblically based Sermons are spoken. Communion is the first Sunday of each month. Please join us either in person or through FB Live Streaming.

We look forward to seeing you at Church!

There’s a place for you…

For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us…
