First Presbyterian Church. Clifton, Texas.

Rev. Clint Schofield

Our Lord led Rev. Clint Schofield to accept the call from FPC Clifton in June of 2004. Our first service of worship together was Sunday June 6, 2004. Prior to accepting God's call to Clifton, Clint served as a Chaplain at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Clint worked with patients, their families and hospital staff in the Departments of Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Orthopedic rehabilitation and Emergency Medicine. In June of 2003 Clint graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary earning a Master of Divinity Degree. Before entering seminary Clint served 21 years as an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Temple. Clint and Jan, his bride of 26 years, met as students at Texas A&M University where both graduated earning Bachelor of Science Degrees in Horticultural Sciences. The couple moved to Temple in September of 1979. Clint was employed at the Olin E. Teauge Veteran's Medical Center. Jan was employed at the Texas Blackland research Center and later became a kindergarten teacher in 1989. They have two adult children, Julia and Joshua.

Jean Lewis, Secretary

Walt & Jean Lewis have been married for 35 years. They bought property in Norse in 1972 after a relative and long time FPC member, Friday Ralph, located it for them. They lived in Dallas for 28 years where they raised four children: Laura, Andy, Elizabeth and Len. While living in Dallas they spent as much time as possible on their Bosque County farm. In September 1998 Walt retired from Exxon Co., USA, and the Lewises moved to Bosque County full time. The farm has now become a goat ranch where they also raise guardian dogs. Jean, who has worked in the First Presbyterian Church office since November 2002, is on the board of directors of the Bosque County Republican Club and Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. She spends much of her free time quilting and doing other needlework.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.
